The name ‘The Strip’ usually refers to part of the main road that runs through Vegas called Las Vegas Boulevard South. This is the road that runs from Fremont Street in the north down to McCarran airport in the south. The term ‘The Strip’ usually refers to the part that runs from the SLS Casino in the north and Mandalay Bay casino in the south. Although often the Stratosphere casino is also included, even though strictly speaking it’s north of Sahara Avenue, just past the SLS Casino.
For a short visit (4-5 nights) you are mainly going to be spending your time on the strip in the area between the Mandalay Bay casino in the south, up to the Wynn and Encore hotels in the north. Between those points are more than 20 of the biggest hotels and casinos in Vegas.
