The Miracle Mile Shops is a shopping mall in the centre of the strip surrounding the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Las Vegas. It’s got a vaguely Hollywood theme with a glitzy interior with a shiny dark sparkly tiled floor.
The mall has two entrances at either side of the main Planet Hollywood building and is a figure 8 shape, with the Planet Hollywood casino in the centre of the bottom of the 8 and the Zappo’s Theater in the centre of the top of the eight. They’ve certainly managed to make the most of the space in this plot on the strip.
I first visited this mall in 2001 when it was it’s previous incarnation as the Desert Passage, back when Planet Hollywood was the Aladdin hotel. The changeover from the Desert Passage to the Miracle Mile Shops was completed in 2007. You can still see some of the remnants of the Desert Passage at the back of the mall where you can see some of the original Arabian theming, the Desert Passage boat and the rainstorm water feature.
The mall consists of 200 shops and 25 restaurants. The shops are standard American and worldwide chain stores, notably Sephora, H&M, Lucky Brand, Victoria’s Secret and Bath & Body Works. All very affordable and a contrast to some of the other high-end malls on the strip.
It’s recently had a rebrand and it’s still undergoing more transformation. At my last visit there were several empty units and promise of a new food court coming soon.
There are several bars and restaurants within and just outside the front of the mall. At the front there are two mexican restaurants, Cabo Wabo Cantina and Rosa Mexicano. Both have outdoor patios with views across the strip to the Bellagio lake and fountains.
A good bar for British sports fans is Blondies Sports Bar & Grill, which is right at the back of the mall which has loads of TV screens and will show many different sporting events including Premier League football. It’s my go-to bar for watching English football, even if it does mean being in a bar at nine o’clock in the morning!
Near Blondies there is a the very popular and reasonable priced Ocean One Bar & Grille. This also has screens for the football. It’s great for breakfast but you need to get there early to avoid the queues. They also do a $5.99 per plate lunch, which also seems very popular.
Also in the same area at the back is Flights. This is a bar and restaurant which specialises in ‘flights’ of drinks and food. So, everything come in threes. For example, you can get a triple set of margartitas, each of a different flavour, and triple plates of different mac and cheese (two things I’ve sampled on my visit there!).
