The Fashion Show mall

The Fashion Show is a shopping mail at the north end of the strip, right opposite Wynn Las Vegas and Wynn Encore.

The mall has been in the same spot since my first ever visit to Vegas in 2001, when I stayed very close to it at the Vagabond Inn motel, which was where The Pallazzo now stands.

Back then it was a fairly small enclosed mall with a couple of large departments stores, a food court and a few other shops. It’s now however become an enormous centre with over 230 shops and restaurants.

You’ll find just about every US chain store in there, the largest stores being Dillard’s, Nordstrom, Macy’s, Saks Fifth Avenue, Forever 21, Neiman Marcus and Dicks Sporting Goods. You’ll also find Gap, Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, and an Apple store.

In addition to a food court on level three at the front, there are some chain restaurants within the mall, such as The California Pizza Kitchen, Chipotle and Johnny Rockets.

When the mall was redeveloped in 2003, in addition to a massive expansion, several restaurants were added to the front of the mall offering outdoor strip views. If you need a quick drink after an exhausting day in the mall, I can recommend a stop of at Benihana which has some nice seating right outside the front.

I was once in a taxi passing the mall, not long after it was redeveloped, with the driver was mourning the loss of the original smaller mall. However, I did learn from him that the large oval canopy at the front was designed to represent a ‘cloud’.

This previously had large moving screens behind it and was also able to move itself, however, the screens have since been removed and the ‘cloud’ now seems to remain static.
