Prior to Target opening a shop on the strip, the nearest store to the main Las Vegas strip was on South Maryland Parkway. It’s an easy bus ride away from the strip and I usually squeeze in a trip out to it in order to get some chocolate and other bits to take home.
It’s a massive store and has all the usual departments for clothes, household goods, toys, electricals, sweets, chemist supplies, pet supplies and food. So it’s a good place for souveniers, especially chocolate, as it’s much cheaper than the drugstores on the strip.
The Target on the strip stills sells goods at non-stip prices but the selection is very limited. So it’s still worth a trip out to the ‘big’ Target.
To get there you need to take a 202 bus from the junction of the strip and Flamingo, the stop is just down to the the street from the main front exit of the Horseshoe. It takes around 20 minutes to get there.
