Vegas is renowned for it’s lavish shows and headliners. One group in particular has several shows running at multiple hotels, that’s the Cirque du Soleil. The first ‘Cirque’ show in Vegas was Mystère at Treasure Island which started in 1993. There are currently six shows that play to over 9,000 people every night, that’s around 5% of the city’s visitors.
Cirque du Soleil originates from Canada and is one of the largest theatrical producers in the world. Their shows are a modern take on classic circus acts. There are no animals and focuses on acrobatics, magic and other circus acts. Performers play characters in a story that each show is based on. Often there is little or no dialogue. I have to admit sometimes it’s difficult to follow the exact story being told, but that doesn’t spoilt it, just sit back and enjoy the spectacle.
To date, I’ve seen six of their shows, including two that are no longer running, R.U.N. and Zumanity.

I usually book tickets online from home before arriving in Vegas. There are tickets available from the discount booths in Vegas, but these are often to fill up un-sold seats, so you don’t get the choice of where you sit. But you can get lucky and get decent seats at a good price.
