The Circa Resort and Casino opened in 2022, and with it, several new restaurants and eateries. They all look good and I, at last, managed to get to Saginaw’s Delicatessen in 2024. Saginaw’s is a New York-style deli. It’s open 24 hours and great for quick meal when you’ve got carried away on the slots (and realised you hadn’t eaten for hours!).
The menu consists of an all day menu of sandwiches, both toasted and un-toasted, soups, salads and sides. There is also a breakfast menu, served 6am to 2pm and a dinner menu served 4pm to 6am.
I was there late afternoon and we opted for the sandwiches and soup.
You order from the counter and are given a number to take to your table. The interior has a retro diner feel and it definitely felt that this is a place to get a quick bite between gambling sessions rather than somewhere you would spend time lingering over a long meal.
The sandwiches were delicious and all served with house-made chips (crisps to us Brits) and a dill pickle. There are plenty of veggie options, I opted for a grilled cheese sandwich with added braised mushrooms. They also do gluten free bread, if you need it.
So if you are downtown, in the Circa area and in need a decent, quick, meal, I thoroughly recommend Saginaw’s. The food is fresh, filling and tasty.
